Pre Race Training Days 
TBN 2019 – Beginner/novice group

During the Day I will provide the following 4 sessions and a Q & A in the cafe:

 

08.30 Meet and brief.

 

08.45 Wetsuits on and ready to swim.

 

0900 – 1000 Open Water Sea Swim:

Open water sea swimming techniques including beach starts, course sighting, fitting and removing wetsuit etc. Surf Life Saving Club lifeguards will provide additional safety specifically for our groups.

 

10.00 – 10.30 Transition:

Kit layout, transition set-up, options to save time, applicable rules.

 

11.45 – 13.45 Bike:

Knowing and preparing your bike, race planning and technique including climbing, descending and cornering – all on the course itself! Nutrition and hydration advice will also be available.

 

14.15 – 15.15 Run:

Efficient run technique, good warm up and post exercise stretching, pace judgement, running drills – again on the course itself!

 

15.15 – 16.00 Q&A:

All timings are flexible and subject to change to suit all athletes.

 

Stops to discuss technique will be taken when suitable or when required by athletes.

An appraisal of sea state will be made prior to entering the sea, if any doubt exists about the safety of the sea state the sea swim may be curtailed, cancelled or moved to later in the day.

Groups will be limited to 7 athletes to ensure maximum technical advice and attention can be given throughout the Pre-Race Training Days.
